Cub Scout Leadership Positions

The citizenship requirement listed in the leadership positions is understood as follows:

For citizens of the United States, individuals serving in any official relationship with the Boy Scouts of America shall subscribe to the statement of religious principles, and the Scout Oath and Law."

Adults who are not citizens of the United States, but who reside within the country, may register with the Boy Scouts of America in any capacity if they agree to abide by the Scout Oath and Law, to respect and obey the laws of the United States of America, and to subscribe to the statement of religious principle."

Pack Committee Chairman

The Pack Committee Chairman is a member of the pack committee and appointed by the charter organization representative to oversee the responsibilities of the pack committee and to coordinate with the Cubmaster as to the needs of the pack.  The Pack Committee Chairman is a leader that is familiar with organization procedures, with a deep concern for the pack's success.

Every pack is under the supervision of a pack committee. This committee consists of a minimum of three members. Pack Committee Members are selected by the chartered organization, and are registered as an adult leader of the BSA.

Pack Trainer

The goal of the pack trainer is to have 100 percent of the pack leadership trained in their position responsibilities, and to assist the leadership of the pack with any other pack related training issues.

 

Cub Scout Den Leader (Wolf and Bear)

Recommended by the Cubmaster and approved by the pack committee and chartered organization, the Cub Scout Den Leaders (Wolf and Bear Dens) plan, prepare for, and conduct den meetings and works directly with the other den and pack leaders to ensure that the den is an active and successful part of the pack while guiding the Scouts in attaining their respective (Wolf or Bear) rank requirements

 

Tiger Cub Den Leader

Currently staffed by Esmeralda but we are looking for next year’s leader now.

Recommended by the Cubmaster and approved by the pack committee and chartered organization, the Tiger Cub Den Leader coordinates shared leadership with the Tiger Cub Adult Partners to plan, prepare for, and conduct den meetings and and Go See It outings while working directly with the other den and pack leaders to ensure that the den is an active and successful part of the pack and guiding the Tiger Cubs and their Adult Partners in the requirements of attaining the Tiger Rank Award.

Chartered Organization Representative.

Sr. Rayo Cuaya

The Chartered Organization Representative (COR), holds a key position in Scouting. While there is honor attached to this position, it is not an "honorary" one. The COR's primary function is to ensure that the chartered organization's Scouting program succeeds.

The COR is head of the "Scouting department" in the organization.  The Scouting unit (pack, troop, team, or crew) is managed by a group of adults approved by the organization who serve as the unit committee. The committee's principal responsibility is to select the best-qualified leaders for the unit and see that they are supported in carrying out the unit program. The COR maintains a close relationship with the unit committee chairman. The goal is for the COR to report to the organization programs, needs, and successes on a regular basis. The COR also shares with the unit the desires and needs of the chartering organization. Thus, communication between the organization and its Scouting program is through the chartered organization representative  The COR is also the organization's contact with the district committee and the local council. The COR may become a member of the district committee and is a voting member of the council.

Cubmaster

Michael T. Sherman

In general, the Cubmaster is the guiding hand behind the work of other pack leaders and serves as program adviser to the pack committee. He or she is a recruiter, supervisor, director, planner, and motivator of other leaders. The Cubmaster's main responsibilities are:

• Work directly with the pack leaders and pack committee to make sure that all dens are functioning well.
• Plan the den and pack programs and lead the monthly pack meeting with the help of other leaders.
• Coordinate the total Cub Scout program in the pack.

 

Webelos Den Leader

Recommended by the Cubmaster and approved by the pack committee and chartered organization, the Webelos Den Leader plans, prepares for, and conducts Webelos den meetings and works directly with the other den and pack leaders to ensure that the den is an active and successful part of the pack while guiding the Scouts in attaining their Webelos rank requirements.

 Assistant Cubmaster

Assistant Cubmasters assist the Cubmaster in all aspects of pack requirements and may be required to step in and fill the Cubmaster position in the Cubmaster's absence. A pack may have more than one Assistant Cubmaster.

 

 Assistant Webelos Den Leader

The assistant Webelos den leader shares the work of the Webelos den leader and may be called upon to handle various details of den operation acting as the Webelos den leader in the Webelos den leader's absence.
